To make a critter your companion after you've unlocked them, pull up your wardrobe and click on companions . You can choose a critter to equip from all of the ones you've unlocked in any part of Disney Dreamlight Valley - whether they're from the base game or one of the DLCs. Your companion will follow you around as you play.
